Review:

It starts off steady with a nice comedic introduction as Ace is acting as Captain of a starship, a role she is familiar with due to many years of watching Star Trek. Nothing else much happens in this first half. The crew of the Cargo Ship they are escorting has gone missing and they go to investigate it and find nothing. It doesn't exactly make it thrilling.

Raine turning up was a pleasant suprise that helped to keep interest up throughout the second part but plot wise, there was still little happening. Thankfully there's a good cast here and a good selection of characters that it doesn't get dull anytime.

It's the second half where things start to kick off with Ace starting to fit into her role and doing what she does best and The Doctor starting to take control. Aliens, space battles, intrigue, and cunning. It all happens in this half.

Raine good again but lacked much development of her mysterious background and reasons for her recent departure. She jus sort of popped up out of nowhere with little explanation. What was revealed though points again to a further on-going arc but one that is starting to get less interesting now. Maybe I've been spoiled by the excellent Steven Moffat and I'm starting to expect too much from everyone now.

Still, this was another good episode in what is proving to be a very entertaining run of stories.

Score:

7/7 - Impossible perfection
